Sierra Leone Woman

oil on panel
7"x5"

I loved teaching at the Artists of Yardley Art Center yesterday. The workshop particants were curious about my methods, asked lots of great questions and gamely tried out some of my crazy-sounding techniques.

I started this painting as a demo for the workshop, and decided to finish it up today. It's painted from a photo of a dignified woman in the Sierra Leone, taken by world traveling photographer Steve Evans. The colors are a tad stronger in the real painting.
